
New Solidarities Stakeholders Committee of the Landes: drawing lessons from the health crisis to adapt the social policies of the Landes Department


The COVID-19 crisis in 2020 brought to light previously unrecognized needs for solidarity. The Landes Departmental Council sought to collaborate with local stakeholders on the new forms of solidarity emerging within the department.
The creation and management of the New Solidarities Committee, bringing together all solidarity stakeholders. The objective was to propose operational actions based on the needs of the people of Landes, actions already implemented and transferable across the entire territory, as well as new initiatives deployed during the health crisis, which meet the needs of new users.
Design and facilitation of local workshops with citizens and elected officials, which the Committee members helped to organize and in which they participated
Design and management of the online dialogue platform Jenparle, enabling the collection of public opinions and proposals regarding new forms of solidarity.
The Committee members based their work on an online citizen consultation and on discussions with local elected officials and residents of the Landes region.
Alternating between in-person and remote working sessions, using facilitation methods that engage all participants.
A report was submitted to the President of the Departmental Council on October 16, 2020, who pledged to continue discussions with the Committee regarding the implementation of the proposed actions.
