ADEME, 2 Degrees Investing Initiative (a think tank specializing in financing the low-carbon transition), and Res publica have formed a consortium to lead the FiRéno+ project , which involves organizing roundtables bringing together stakeholders in energy renovation and small-scale renewable energy systems integrated into buildings in France . This project is co-financed by the European LIFE 2021-2027 program . Indeed, making energy consumption more efficient, a crucial aspect of achieving carbon neutrality , cannot be achieved without the building sector : it accounts for 44% of the energy consumed in France, according to the Ministry of the Economy in 2021. The building sector also presents significant opportunities for renewable energy production. To meet European and national greenhouse gas emission reduction targets , it is therefore necessary to invest in high-performance renovation and renewable energy production in buildings . However, to date, these investments have been insufficient.
The FiRéno+ project aims to organize roundtables that bring together all stakeholders in the French building sector (financial, operational, and institutional players). The project's ambition is to help them develop a shared vision and collectively arrive at turnkey solutions to overcome the obstacles to increased investment in high-performance building renovation and renewable energy production.
The project, focused on organizing roundtables, also includes a component of studies conducted by ADEME and 2DII . These studies inform the dialogue process between stakeholders.
The project tackles the problem of financing high-performance building renovation and renewable energy in its various dimensions: studies and roundtables address buildings in the residential and commercial sectors, and the distinct issues of overseas territories and those of mainland France and Corsica…
The approach uses a variety of tools to ensure continuous dialogue : in-person plenary sessions, remote thematic working groups, asynchronous dialogue tools via the online platform Jenparle…
