The Maladrerie sector, comprised of social housing and artists' studios, is located in the Emile Dubois-Maladrerie district of Aubervilliers. Designed in the late 1970s by architect Renée Gailhoustet as an architectural utopia, the district is characterized by its strong heritage value .
As part of the NPNRU (New National Urban Renewal Program) for the Emile Dubois-Maladrerie district, the 891 lots that make up this sector will undergo residentialization and rehabilitation starting in 2024. The Aubervilliers Public Housing Office (OPH d'Aubervilliers), the owner, is transferring 38.5% of the lots to RIVP (i.e., 343 lots). These projects aim to address the numerous challenges facing the district (deteriorated housing; unclear ownership structure; uninhabitable dwellings; energy inefficiency, etc.).
Res publica is responsible for designing and leading a consultation and mobilization strategy adapted to the specific problems and challenges of the sector (original heritage, audiences far removed from consultation mechanisms, etc.), in a conflictual context.
