The Maladrerie sector, comprised of social housing and artists' studios, is located in the Emile Dubois-Maladrerie district of Aubervilliers. Designed in the late 1970s by architect Renée Gailhoustet as an architectural utopia, the district is characterized by its strong heritage value.
As part of the NPNRU (New National Urban Renewal Program) for the Emile Dubois-Maladrerie district, the 891 lots that make up this sector will undergo residentialization and rehabilitation starting in 2024. The Aubervilliers Public Housing Office (OPH d'Aubervilliers), the owner, is transferring 38.5% of the lots to RIVP (i.e., 343 lots). These projects aim to address the numerous challenges facing the district (deteriorated housing; unclear ownership structure; uninhabitable dwellings; energy inefficiency, etc.).
Res publica is responsible for designing and leading a consultation and mobilization strategy adapted to the specific problems and challenges of the sector (original heritage, audiences far removed from consultation mechanisms, etc.), in a conflictual context.
